How To Find The Perfect RV For Your Family

The Covid pandemic was catastrophic for airlines, but it kicked off a huge surge in RV travel and road trips. Just as importantly, it looks like travel via RVs will stick around despite high fuel costs. Part of the reason is uncertainty about flights. Airlines canceled around 12,000 flights back around the 4th of July. If you can’t trust that your flight will get you there, the open road is a more certain bet. Of course, that leaves the lingering problem of how to find the perfect RV for your family. Keep reading for some tips and insights.

RV Rental

Buying an RV is a major financial investment with even cheaper models running tens of thousands of dollars. It’s not the kind of check you want to cut based on a walkthrough. Fortunately, you can do a thorough test trip with an RV rental. That lets you see how a particular class of RV handles on the road. Plus, you get a sense of whether or not it has enough room for your family over the course of a week or two. Now, let’s take a look at a couple of the main types of RVs available.

 Class A RVs

One of the more popular classes of RV is the Class A RV. If it helps you picture things, a Class A RV is the kind of RV that bands use as tour buses. They’re some of the biggest RVs out there, but they also provide the most amenities. For example, many of them come with a small shower, built-in TV, a highly functional kitchen area, a generator, and a built-in air conditioner unit. This class of RV will also maximize the number of people you can comfortably sleep at one time.

Class C RVs

For those who don’t relish the idea of driving a vehicle the size of a bus around, there is the Class C RV. The Class C RV provides less overall space, which limits the number of people you can comfortably sleep. Yet, a family-size Class Cs pack in a lot of amenities as well. You can find ones that still provide a shower, a kitchenette, and a built-in air conditioner unit.

Picking Your RV

If the airlines burned you one time too many, it may well be time to consider RV travel as an alternative. It’s not as fast, but it lets you see the country instead of staring down at it. Plus, with Class A or Cs, you can pack a lot of family members in for the trip. Rentals will even let you test out the different classes to see which works best for you.
