National Parks
Throughout the state of Pennsylvania, you’ll find National Park sites featuring both history and outdoor adventure. Starting on the eastern coast, you can hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail and explore the beauty of a mountain river at the world famous Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Rent a canoe and spend a lazy summer afternoon paddling this historic waterway.
Allegheny National Forest is an RV camper’s paradise, with abundant campsites and year-round outdoor activities. The waterfalls alone could keep a hiker happy for days!
For a bit of history, head your rental RV south to Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. Learn how the early pioneers in iron and steel set the stage for the Industrial Revolution. Farther south, you’ll find Gettysburg National Military Park, site of the Civil War’s bloodiest battle. The history your family will learn there make it a ‘must-do’ while in Pennsylvania.
Don’t forget to plan time to visit Independence Hall and a dozen of other National Historic Sites in Philadelphia. Plenty of scenic campgrounds are just down the road in New Jersey, so you won’t have to worry about finding a hotel!

Pennsylvania’s one hundred seventeen state parks offer motorhome campers everything from history to the arts, and there’s something to do year-round!
If wildlife watching is your favorite activity, why not plan a visit to Pennsylvania’s Great Lakes Region in the northwest corner of the state? Black bear, bald eagles, coyotes and bobcats are only a few of the species available to the observant sightseer.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown feature spectacular water slides as well as breathtaking roller coasters. If you’re traveling with kids, don’t miss DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, also in Allentown. Come for the rides, but stay long enough to eat fantastic Italian food made on-site!

This town built around chocolate boasts Chocolate World, complete with factory tours, ZooAmerica – a world class animal conservation site, and Hershey Park, an ever-expanding theme and water park for the entire family.
