One-Tank Trips
From Linden, you can drive just about two hours south to get to Atlantic City and the famous Atlantic City boardwalk. This fixture has been attracting visitors since the early 1870’s. With a wonderful wide beach and lots of luxury hotels and casinos, Atlantic City still attracts them today. Its famous Boardwalk, initially built in June of 1870, was originally 8 feet wide and 1 mile long; it was later extended to a width of 60 feet and 5 miles long.
Take a drive a bit north and east and visit Long Island, where you can enjoy beautiful Atlantic beaches along the coast for miles and miles. RV campgrounds on Long Island include Nickerson Beach and Smith Point County Park Campground. If you don’t mind being more inland, there is Battle Row Campground in Old Bethpage as well.
You could also continue to drive northeast on I-95 and visit places like Milford or New Haven, CT and if you are really motivated, try about a 5-6 hour driving trip up to Massachusetts and visit Provincetown on the Cape Cod National Seashore. Summer in New England is just unbeatable. You can start your journey in just about any direction from New York/ Linden and find wonderful sights to see and great campgrounds to park in for a night or several.
National Parks / National Historic Sites near Linden, New Jersey
New Jersey, "The Garden State", is the fourth smallest state in the United States. In spite of its small size, and the fact that it is the most densely populated state, more than half of New Jersey is wooded. In addition, it is famous for its shoreline.
There are ten National Park Services properties that are in or partly in New Jersey including the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve.
Visiting Independence National Historical Park is like taking a step back into our American history and since many of El Monte RV’s customers enjoy history, they spend many hours at this very historic park in Philadelphia. Some notable sites to visit are the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial, Declaration House, Independence Living History Center, Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site, the Liberty Bell Center and the Merchants’ Exchange Building.
National Preserves near Linden, NJ
Traveling through the Pinelands National Reserve in a motorhome is one of the nicest ways to see over one million acres of farms, forests and wetlands. It's classified as a United States Biosphere Reserve and in 1978 was established by Congress as the country’s first National Reserve. It includes portions of seven southern New Jersey counties. Local Attractions / Amusement and Theme Parks
Water parks, amusement rides, good food, and entertainment for all ages – Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Water Park have it all. What better way to relax after a hard day of fun than in the comfort of an RV rental? Swimming with the sharks, watching sea turtles or scuba diving with schools of fish; El Monte RV’s customers enjoy all of these activities by visiting the Adventure Aquarium and having an aquatic adventure of a lifetime.
Amusement and Theme Parks
The largest drive-thru safari outside of Africa is at Jackson, NJ’s Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari. We highly recommend that you do this in one of our RV rentals, see everything they have to offer and even try out some of their record breaking rides. It doesn’t seem to matter how old you are - Sesame Street Place is fun for all! Visiting Elmo's World or having your picture taken while dancing with your favorite Sesame Street character is something that will be remembered forever. Especially if you can relax in the evening in the comfort of your RV and talk about all the fun you had during the day. Another El Monte RV customer’s favorite places to take their families is the Bowcraft Playland, a NJ family amusement park.
